The letter from the resort came out 13 days after the Bargi cruise accident, in which it is mentioned that the engine was shut down.

Major negligence of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has come to light in the Bargi Cruise accident that took place on April 30 in Jabalpur. 13 days after the incident, a letter written in the name of Maikal Resort has surfaced. In this, on March 1 itself, the corporation was told that the cruise was bad. despite this

.

It is written in the letter that the cruise is not fit to be launched in water. That is, despite knowing about the shortcomings, the tourists were boarded and landed in the cruise dam and 13 people lost their lives in the accident. When Dainik Bhaskar talked to Jabalpur Collector Raghavendra Singh about the matter, he did not give any reply.

Tourism Corporation said – No information about the letter

At the same time, he talked to Tourism Corporation advisor Rajendra Nigam. He said- At present he has no information about which letter is going viral. Someone must have sent him that letter, but he has not yet examined it.

Rajendra Nigam said- Since the month of December, Macalsuta Cruise was making five trips every day. On Sunday this number increased to 10 rounds, information about which is recorded in the logbook.

He admitted that the second cruise ‘Rewa’ was grounded due to breakdown, but the Macalsutra cruise was in fully operational condition. He says that plans were definitely underway to replace the engine of Macalsutra, but there was no technical fault in the Cruze.

The cruise sank in Bargi Dam, Jabalpur on April 30.

The boat builder had said that both the engines should be changed…

The resort has written the subject of its letter – Regarding the improvement work of votes available in the unit.

The letter further states that there are two cruises available, with the Macalsueta cruise taking place in the year 2006. It’s been almost 20 years. The second cruise of Reva came in the year 2007, which took almost 19 years. The engines of both the cruises have been repaired several times, but now they break down again and again. This regard has been conveyed several times through letters.

Reva Cruise Boat had both engines shut down during the round on 14 January 2025. Hyderabad boat builder informed through mail that the engines have become quite old. Spare parts are not available. Therefore both engines should be changed.

One engine of Macalsutta is not working

The second cruise, Macalsuta, is in working condition, but one of its engines is also not loading properly. This creates a lot of difficulty in parking the cruise and while going on rounds. Sometimes, due to strong winds and waves, one has to take the help of a speed boat to get out and set up.

The second engine, which takes the load well, sometimes faces difficulty in starting. Its self-esteem gets inflated. Because of this, cruise boat services have to be stopped. Displeasure is expressed by its tourists.

At present, one Cruise Macalsuta is operated in the unit, whose engine needs to be repaired, otherwise the cruise may have to be stopped at any time. Before the start of the tourist season and keeping in mind the current trend of cruise, it is very important to improve or replace the engine, so that the current financial loss of the unit can be compensated in the tourist season.

Authorities were informed about the danger several times

The Maikal resort management had informed the authorities about the danger not once, but several times. In letters no. 45, 108 and 169, mention was made of the continuous poor condition of the engines and their replacement.

Despite this, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation officials did not take any concrete steps. Now the big question that arises is that when the regional manager of MPT was aware of this entire situation, then why were the tourists sent to travel on a deadly cruise.
