Jalandhar Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police has exposed an ISI-backed espionage network. During this operation, Ferozepur resident Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha has been arrested, who is said to be the main operative of this gang. Investigation has revealed that the accused and his associates were installing solar powered CCTV cameras at various places. Through these cameras, sensitive places, especially areas related to the army, were being monitored. Investigation has also revealed that these cameras were equipped with 4G connectivity, through which live footage was being sent to handlers based in Pakistan through a mobile application. Police have also recovered Chinese-made solar CCTV equipment from Kapurthala, which was being used for surveillance. Case registered in Amritsar: FIR has been registered in this matter in State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. Police are now carrying out further investigation to identify other members of this network and trace its entire network. Police quote: Punjab DGP committed to maintaining peace Punjab DGP said on Twitter that he is fully committed to dismantling the espionage network and maintaining peace and security in the state. This action is being considered an important step for the security of the state, which will help in ensuring the security of sensitive information.
