As the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections draw closer, candidates have begun filing their nomination papers, revealing detailed disclosures of their assets and financial dealings. Among them, actor-turned-politician Vijay, contesting from the Perambur constituency, has declared significant wealth in his affidavit. Vijay reported movable assets worth Rs 404.58 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 220 crore at current market rates. He also stated that his total income over the past five years amounts to Rs 734 crore. (News18 Tamil)

The affidavit also reveals that Vijay has extended loans amounting to nearly Rs 12 crore to his father SA Chandrasekhar and mother Shoba. Additionally, loans totalling around Rs 29 crore have been given to his wife Sangeetha, son Jason, daughter Divya, and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretary Anand. (News18 Tamil)

Meanwhile, within the party, Adhav Arjuna emerges as the next highest asset holder after Vijay. Contesting from the Villivakkam constituency, Arjuna has detailed his financial position in his nomination affidavit. He reported an income of Rs 11.10 crore for the financial year 2024-25, compared to Rs 5.89 crore in 2020-21. His total income over the past five years is declared at Rs 67.57 crore, while his wife Daisy’s income during the same period stands at Rs 38 crore. (News18 Tamil)

Arjuna has listed movable assets worth Rs 180 crore in his name and Rs 162 crore in his wife’s name. His immovable assets are valued at Rs 17.49 crore, while his wife owns immovable assets worth Rs 89 lakh. (News18 Tamil)

The affidavit further notes that he holds Rs 1.69 crore in cash, while his wife has Rs 12 lakh in cash reserves. His bank deposits and investments amount to Rs 17.53 crore, with an additional Rs 2.23 crore invested in shares. (News18 Tamil)

He has also disclosed loans extended amounting to Rs 155 crore, while his wife has lent Rs 69.41 crore. Among his assets are two apartments in Chennai’s Uthandi and Port Club areas valued at Rs 17.49 crore, along with two cars worth Rs 20.50 lakh, a Royal Enfield motorcycle worth Rs 1.12 lakh, and a bicycle valued at Rs 63,000. The affidavit further states that 57 acres of land worth Rs 37.45 crore are held in his wife’s name across Mamallapuram, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, and Kerala. In terms of jewellery and valuables, Arjuna has declared ownership of 1.691 kg of gold worth Rs 2.29 crore.
