An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Leh on Monday at 11.51 am IST, according to recorded seismic parameters.
The quake occurred at latitude 36.71°N and longitude 74.32°E, with a depth of 171 km, classifying it as a deep-focus earthquake.
There were no immediate reports of any damage to property or injuries.
