The Delhi High Court on Wednesday allowed the release of Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘120 Bahadur’, based on the 1962 Battle of Rejang La, in Pan India theatres.

The division bench of Justices Pratibha M Singh and Shail Jain took note of the filmmaker’s submission that the names of all 120 soldiers who fought in the war have been included in the credits in the film.

The court gave this order while disposing of a PIL filed by a charitable trust – Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha, its trustees and the families of the martyrs.

The petition challenged the CBFC certificate given to the film on the basis of allegations of tampering with historical facts. In the petition, a demand was made to change the name of the film from 120 Bahadur to 120 Veer Ahir, saying it was misleading.

There were also demands for factual correction, inclusion of names of 120 soldiers in the film and addition of a correct disclaimer.

During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioners said that although he is not seeking to change the name of the film at this time, the names of all the 120 soldiers should be added to the film.

In response, the producer’s lawyer told the court that the names of all the 120 brave soldiers have already been included as a tribute at the end of the film through illustrations.

Thus, the court refused to direct the change in the name of the film which was scheduled to release on November 21.

The court directed the organization to watch the film and ensure that the names of all 120 soldiers are present in the film.

If any kind of correction or editing is required, the producer will have to make these changes for the OTT release.

The Court clarified that even in the OTT version, only the names of the soldiers and their respective regiments will be mentioned correctly.

Farhan Akhtar will be seen in the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati.

The film features Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery in the Battle of Rezang La in 1962.

Farhan Akhtar is playing the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati in the film ‘120 Bahadur’. The film has been shot extensively in Ladakh, Rajasthan and Mumbai.

The special thing is that it has been shot in Ladakh at an altitude of about 14,000 feet. The film is directed by Rajneesh Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment) and Amit Chandra (Trigger Happy Studios). This film will be released in theaters on November 21.
