Seven major decisions were taken in the Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Along with the approval of Semiconductor Mission 2.0, the mobile corridor worth Rs 62,500 crore was also given the green signal.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav While approving the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, he said that to reduce the problem of traffic jam in Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh, the construction of 43.218 km long elevated corridor of six and four lanes connecting NH-31 and Varanasi Ring Road on the banks of Varuna river has been approved. The total estimated cost of this project is Rs 10,998.32 crore.
He told that Varanasi Two elevated corridors have been approved. Six and four lane corridors will be built on the banks of Varuna. Also new infra will be developed in Kashi.
At the same time, Semicon 2.0 has also been approved in the cabinet. A total budget of Rs 1,27,500 crore has been approved for the development of India’s semiconductor design and manufacturing ecosystem. The objective of this scheme is to take forward the government’s commitment to give India a prominent position in the global semiconductor sector and to establish a strong identity of the country in this sector.
