India’s 20-year-old budding shuttler Devika Sihag created history at the Thailand Masters 2026 on Sunday. In the final match played in Bangkok, she won the first BWF World Tour Super 300 title of her career by defeating Go Jin Wei of Malaysia. Devika won the first game by a huge margin of 21-8. In the second game, when she was leading 6-3, the Malaysian player had to retire due to injury and Devika was declared the winner. Devika did not lose a single game in the entire tournament. He won every match in straight sets. In the quarter-finals, she created a big upset by defeating the tournament’s number-1 seed Supanida. With this victory, Devika has become only the third female player from India to win the Super 300 title. Earlier this achievement was in the names of only PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. Devika said- I am very happy because this is my first Super 300 title. I have played very good matches here and learned a lot. I just wanted to give my 100%. This thought gave me confidence.
