A suicide bomber detonated a blast during a wedding ceremony in Dera Ismail Khan district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday. Seven people were killed and 25 were injured in this attack.
The attack took place at the home of Noor Alam Mehsud, a pro-government community leader. Where the joy of marriage was being celebrated. According to the police, the guests were dancing when the blast occurred, causing chaos at the place.
The explosion was so powerful that the roof collapsed, making it difficult to rescue people trapped under the debris. According to officials, a former Taliban member was also among the dead. The remaining deceased are said to be his relatives.
According to initial reports, Peace Committee leader Wahidullah Mehsud alias Jigri Mehsud has also been killed in this attack. All the injured and the dead were taken to the nearest hospital, where the condition of many of the injured is said to be critical.
Security forces have surrounded the area and started searching for the attackers. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier this month, four members of the Peace Committee were killed in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in November 2025, the Peace Committee office was attacked in the same province, in which seven people were killed.
