Mumbai: Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has reportedly received a threat from the Lawrence Gang demanding extortion money of ₹20 crore. According to the report of Hindustan Times, this threat was given through an audio clip, in which it is said that if the amount is not given then this time the target will be directly Rohit Shetty.
This incident has come to light after the firing that took place at his Juhu house four months ago. According to the police, on Saturday morning, Rohit Shetty’s staff received an audio clip of about 90 seconds. It reportedly features the voice of Lawrence’s close associate Shubham Lonkar. Shubham Lonkar is wanted in the case of murder of leader Baba Siddiqui in 2024 and firing at Rohit Shetty’s house in February 2026.
A Mumbai Crime Branch official said that the staff has handed over the threatening audio to the police. Juhu police is registering the case. In the preliminary investigation, the voice seems to be that of Shubham Lonkar and the clip has been sent for forensic examination.
The firing took place in February
Late night on February 1, five bullets were fired outside Rohit Shetty’s house near Mahmood Chowk in Juhu. Lawrence Gang had taken responsibility for this attack. The bike rider Deepak Sharma had opened fire, who was later arrested from Agra. During investigation, Deepak Sharma had told that he had joined the gang after being influenced by the posts related to Lawrence gang on social media.
In April, the Crime Branch filed a 1,624-page chargesheet in the case, in which 15 people were made accused. Whereas, Praveen Lonkar and Arju Bishnoi were declared absconding.

Rohit Shetty’s previous release was Singham Again, which was released on 1 November 2024. The film had a worldwide gross collection of ₹372.4 crore.
At the same time, his main upcoming film is Golmaal 5, the shooting of which started in early 2026. The film is expected to be released in theaters in early 2027.
