Today is PM Modi’s first rally regarding the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The Prime Minister will address the public in Dhule at 12 noon. Then there will be a public meeting in Nashik at 2 pm. Apart from PM, Amit Shah also has four rallies in the state.

Elections for 288 seats in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on November 20. The result will come on 23rd November. BJP is contesting the elections with Mahayuti alliance. BJP has fielded 148 candidates, Shinde faction has fielded 80 candidates and Ajit faction has fielded 53 candidates.

BJP is fighting on fewer seats than in 2019 Compared to the 2019 assembly elections, BJP is fighting on fewer seats this time. Last time BJP had fielded its candidates on 164 seats. This time 16 less candidates have been fielded.

At the same time, Shiv Sena-Shinde got 80, NCP-Ajit got 53. This is the first assembly election after the rebellion in the party. In the last elections, Shiv Sena (undivided) and NCP (undivided) had contested on 124 seats each. Apart from all this, this time Mahayuti has left 5 seats for the allied parties.

BJP said- Decision on CM will be taken after elections On being seen as the Chief Minister, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had said about a week ago that if people are seeing him as the Chief Minister, then it is not a problem, it is a solution. But this does not mean that he is going to become CM.

There is no need for Mahayuti to declare the chief ministerial face as Eknath Shinde is the current chief minister. Who will become the Chief Minister will be announced after the elections. Shiv Sena chief CM Eknath Shinde, NCP chief Ajit Pawar and BJP’s parliamentary board will decide who will be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Mahayuti is not confused, the problem lies with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The question of face is for them, not for Mahayuti. MVA is not announcing the Chief Minister’s face because they know that their CM can come after the elections.

A look at the political equation of Maharashtra…

BJP reduced from 23 to 9 seats in Lok Sabha elections In the Lok Sabha elections, out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, INDIA alliance got 30 seats and NDA got 17 seats. Of these, BJP got 9 seats, Shiv Sena got 7 and NCP got only 1 seat. BJP lost 23 seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, NDA got 41 seats while in 2014 it got 42 seats.

Estimate of BJP’s loss according to Lok Sabha elections If there is a trend like Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra Assembly elections then BJP will suffer loss. BJP will be reduced to around 60 seats. At the same time, in the survey of the opposition alliance, MVA has been estimated to get 160 seats. Maratha movement is the biggest challenge for BJP. Apart from this, people have sympathy with Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar after the sabotage in Shiv Sena and NCP.

Assembly Election- 2019

• There was BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in 2019. BJP won 105 seats and Shiv Sena won 56 seats. NCP got 54 seats and Congress 44 seats from the alliance. BJP-Shiv Sena would have easily come to power, but the alliance broke due to differences of opinion.

• On 23 November 2019, Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as the Deputy Chief Minister. However, both of them resigned on 26 November, before the majority test.
• On 28 November, Mahavikas Aghadi of Shiv Sena (undivided), NCP (undivided) and Congress came to power.
