The story of the tragic accident that took place in Moshi, Pune finally ended after 83 hours. But this story did not end with any relief, but with mourning for 9 families.
At around 1 am on Sunday, the body of the last missing employee, Vaman Kasbe, buried under a mountain of debris and garbage, was recovered. With this, the number of people who lost their lives in this accident increased to nine and the rescue operation which was going on continuously for four days was ended.
On July 8, a huge mountain of garbage suddenly collapsed on the administrative building of the Waste-to-Energy Project. At that time 23 employees were present inside the building. Five people somehow came out after saving their lives… nine people were taken out alive by the rescue team… but the lives of nine employees were buried in the debris forever.
For four days, teams of Army, NDRF, fire brigade, police and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation kept searching for life amidst death and debris. Every hour there was hope that someone might be found breathing… but every time only a dead body came out.
Poisonous gas, continuously shifting garbage, broken beams and heavy concrete pillars… all this made the relief work extremely difficult. Still the soldiers stood firm without stopping. Finally, on Saturday, a part of the building was demolished to make way inside, where seven bodies were found one by one. And the painful search ended on Sunday morning with the discovery of the body of the last missing employee.
This accident snatched away their loved ones from nine families…some’s son, someone’s husband, someone’s father will never return home. Only memories, unfulfilled dreams and wait for loved ones are left behind. Watch VIDEO:-
After the accident, the concerned company has announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the deceased employees, a job for one member of the family and the entire expense of the children’s education. But the biggest question still remains… can this compensation compensate for those nine lives?

Will action be taken against the contractor?
Now the biggest question is whether a criminal case will be registered against the concerned contractor Antony? Will strict action be taken against him, or will he get the benefit of some political protection?
Will Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi take action against him or will efforts be made to save him? After all, nine families have been completely ruined, in such a situation it would be injustice to justice to give protection to any guilty contractor.
The most important thing is that Antony Company itself has admitted that the Rs 25 lakh given to the families of the deceased employees is not from its side, but is the amount of insurance (group insurance) of the employees. Notice to waste-to-energy plant operator
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will issue a notice to the operator of the Moshi Waste-to-Energy Plant and its own environment department. This action will be taken in the case of death of nine people due to collapse of garbage dump.
PCMC Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi said that if any lapse is found, the process of registering an FIR will also be initiated.
Speaking to reporters, Suryavanshi said that the Municipal Corporation has completed the search and rescue operation and has started action to fix responsibility for the July 8 incident.
Suryavanshi said, “A notice will be issued to the company running the plant seeking details of the approvals taken to run the facility and the safety measures adopted. We have also directed to issue a notice to officials of the environment department of the municipal corporation, which oversees the project.” Watch VIDEO:-
He said the Municipal Corporation has also directed officials to seek legal opinion and register an FIR against the contractor ‘Anthony Lara Renewables’ if the investigation finds any lapse in approvals, safety measures or the work of the project.
