DUSU Election Results 2026 LIVE: The counting of votes for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections will begin at 8 am amid tight security.
The polls recorded a voter turnout of 40.46 per cent on Friday, with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) engaged in a keen contest. The elections were held months after a youth-centric protest at Jantar Mantar brought issues of accountability and student concerns into sharper focus.
Last year, student elections across a majority of Delhi University (DU) colleges recorded a voter turnout of 39.45 per cent.
Ahead of the DUSU vote counting, the ABVP secured victories in several college union polls across DU. At the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), the student organisation registered a clean sweep, winning the president and secretary posts as well as both councillor seats.
The election witnessed a closely watched contest among the ABVP, the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and the AISA-SFI alliance for the four central panel posts, including president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary.
