The Union Culture Ministry said that a rare 233-year-old Sanskrit manuscript of Valmiki Ramayana has been gifted to the International Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya. Central Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Srinivas Varkhedi gave it to Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library, who handed it over to the museum.
According to the ministry, this manuscript is from Vikram Samvat 1849 (1792 AD) and is written in Devanagari script with the classical commentary of Maheshwar Tirtha. This includes Balkand, Aranyakand, Kishkindhakand, Sunderkand and Yudhkand. Officials said this donation will help develop the Ram Katha Museum as a global center and make the rich heritage of Ramayana accessible to more people.

Head-on collision between trucks and pickup vehicles in Raichur, 4 killed

A head-on collision took place between a truck and two pickup vehicles on Tuesday near Budiwal Cross in Raichur, Karnataka. In this accident, four people died on the spot. According to the police, all the deceased were traveling in both the pickup vehicles, although they have not been identified yet.
Police said that both the pickup vehicles were going from Sindhanur towards Ballari carrying sheep and were following each other. During this time, he had a massive collision with a truck coming from the front. The sheep being transported in the pickup vehicles also died in the collision and both the vehicles were completely damaged.
Delhi government’s gift on Holi, EWS women will get free gas cylinder

In the cabinet meeting held in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Delhi government approved the proposal to provide free LPG cylinders to women of economically weaker section (EWS) on the occasion of Holi. According to official sources, the decision was taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, which may provide relief to the beneficiaries on the festival of Holi in March.
The scheme was part of the BJP’s election manifesto, which promised to provide free cylinders to women from EWS families on Holi and Diwali and cylinders at Rs 500 subsidy to other weaker sections. EWS women holding ration cards will get this benefit and it is estimated that approximately Rs 300 crore will be spent on it. The government has already fulfilled promises like implementing Ayushman Bharat Yojana and opening Atal Canteen.
