The police have described it as a ‘major’ incident but have ruled out any terrorist incident.
On Monday evening, a minor attacked several people with a knife in Southport near Liverpool in Britain. According to BBC report, 2 children have been killed in this. Apart from this, about a dozen people have been injured. The injured were taken to Children’s Hospital. Most of the injured are children.
This attack took place in a children’s dance workshop. Police said that the 17-year-old attacker has been arrested. The knife used in the attack has also been seized. The attacker’s motives are not yet known.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said they had treated eight patients with stab wounds and some were taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as ‘appalling’.
Prime Minister Starmer has thanked the police and emergency services.
According to police, the attacker was born in Cardiff and lived in Southport.

A person familiar with the incident told news agency AP that children aged 6 to 11 years had come to a workshop for a dance and yoga program. Suddenly they saw 8 to 10 children running away covered in blood. They could not understand what happened inside.
Police said they were not sure about the attacker’s motives.
Police refused to accept it as a terrorist incident
Police are not considering this as a terrorist incident. According to police, the attacker lived in a village 8 kilometers away from the incident spot. He was born in Cardiff.
Colin Parry, who lives near the scene, told the BBC that there was a commotion in the street before the attack. A man wearing a green shirt and a mask on his face came in a taxi but refused to pay the driver. A short time later he saw young children covered in blood.
Perry said that he did not know whether the man in the green shirt was the attacker. He said that people nearby tried to take the children away from there and more than ten children were taken to safe places.
