Station House Officer of Gadap police station, Muhammad Ali said that all the girls were looking for jobs and come from middle-class families. He was promised 2,000 Pakistani rupees per day and other facilities for working for a week. They were told that the event would be held in a gated community outside Karachi, where they had to set up stalls. On September 30, instead of taking the program to Bahria Town, the girls were taken to a farmhouse on the outskirts of Karachi. Some girls got scared by this. A victim said that the main accused and his accomplice behaved normally. He said that there will be a meeting with the women coordinator at the farmhouse and after lunch, everyone will be taken to Bahria Town to set up stalls. After this, the main accused collected the mobile phones of all the girls citing company policy. He said the phones would be returned after the work was completed. The main accused, Muhammad Ali, hiding in Gujranwala, said that this is the first time he has seen such a case of absconding with such a large number of mobile phones. Police is searching for the main accused. According to the police, the accused has fled from Karachi to Gujranwala. His two brothers have been brought to the police station. Both of them talked to him on phone and asked him to surrender before the police.
