India Vs Uruguay Live: India face another stern test as they take on two-time world champions Uruguay in a FIFA international friendly in Kolkata on Tuesday. The match comes just days after India’s 0-4 defeat to Brazil, though head coach Khalid Jamil can take encouragement from the team’s promising spells in the opening stages.
Ryan Williams, Manvir Singh and Sahal Abdul Samad will again be key to India’s attacking plans, while the defence will need to improve its organisation after conceding four goals against Brazil. India, ranked 138th, will hope to turn their encouraging build-up play into more shots and chances.
Uruguay, ranked 20th, are also in transition following Marcelo Bielsa’s departure. New coach Diego Forlan has overseen a defeat to Japan and a win over South Korea. Federico Valverde is absent through injury, but Darwin Nunez, Ronald Araujo and Lucas Torreira remain major threats.
