Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Rajasthan has been postponed after the fire at Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra on the afternoon of April 20.

Flames were visible from several kilometers away On April 20, around 2:00 pm, a fire broke out in two crude distillation units due to hydrocarbon leakage in the heat exchanger circuit. The plume of smoke and flames were seen from several kilometers away.
The PM was going to inaugurate this refinery built at a cost of about Rs 79 thousand 459 crore today (Tuesday). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit was postponed after the accident.
Food was prepared for more than 2 lakh people As soon as the Prime Minister’s program was postponed, the process of removing the dome and other items from the spot was expedited. It is being claimed that food was prepared for more than 2 lakh people, which got wasted. Apart from this, many other facilities including fans and coolers were also provided.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reached Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra at around 12.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
On the afternoon of April 20, a massive fire broke out in the refinery located at Pachpadra in Balotra. The fire could be controlled after about two and a half hours of effort.
Security has been increased at gate number four of the refinery. Police officers and soldiers are deployed here.
A dome was built in Pachpadra for the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is being claimed that food arrangements were made for about 2 lakh people.
