BJP leader Surendra Pal Singh had joined Aam Aadmi Party on 6 December, just before the Delhi Assembly elections.

The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. The Election Commission completes the election process before the date of expiry of the five-year term of the current House.
The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party was successful in winning only 8 seats, while Congress’s account was not even opened.

Kejriwal spent 156 days in jail, then released
