- VB G RAM G Launched: 125 Days Employment Guarantee & Increased Daily Wages

You can work with your old job card until you get the new Rural Employment Guarantee Card.
The central government is implementing the Bharat-Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G) from Wednesday. Under this, now there will be a legal guarantee of employment for 125 days in a year instead of 100.
At the same time, the average daily wage across the country has increased from ₹ 298.8 to ₹ 327.4 per day. That means there has been an average increase of Rs 28.6 per day. Rs 95,692.31 crore has been given to the states and union territories, so that wages can be paid on time and work can continue.
The national launch of this law will take place on July 2 in Mukkavaripalli village in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. During this period, Rural Employment Guarantee Cards will be distributed and people will be informed about the scheme. Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the government has made complete preparations.

3 important things about VB-G RAM G scheme…
- Those whose job card has been e-KYCed, will be able to work using the old job card only till they get the new Rural Employment Guarantee Card.
- Even in the new system, Gram Panchayats will decide and monitor the work like before. Special attention will be given to works related to water conservation, development of natural resources, farming, rural infrastructure and women empowerment.
- According to the Ministry of Rural Development, 29 states and union territories have kept the budget for this law. At the same time, 24 states have released their VB-G RAM G scheme.

The central government will bear 90% of the expenses in the north-eastern states.
- According to the law, the expenses of this scheme will be borne jointly by the central and state governments. In normal states, 60% of the money will be given by the Center and 40% by the State Government.
- In the North-Eastern states and Union Territories including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government will bear 90% of the expenditure.
- There is also a provision in the law that during the busy farming season like sowing and harvesting, state governments will be able to limit the work available under this scheme to a maximum of 60 days in a year.
