List of dead and injured

2900 kg explosive material was found in the morning itself

Before the incident, on Monday morning itself, Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad Police had recovered 2,900 kg of IED-making chemical, arms and ammunition in a joint operation. This action took place during the busting of an interstate terrorist network linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). Now the big question before the investigating agencies is whether the Red Fort blast is related to the same recovery? Is the Delhi blast the sequel to the same network whose roots were exposed in Jammu and Faridabad in the morning? Although NIA and Delhi Police have refused to comment officially on this, but both the agencies are investigating from every angle.

Network spread from Jammu and Kashmir to Faridabad

According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, two doctors are also included among the seven arrested suspects. Dr. Muazmil Ahmed Ganai (from Faridabad) and Dr. Adil (resident of Kulgam). Apart from these, Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Maqsood Ahmed Dar alias Shahid, Maulvi Irfan Ahmed (Shopian) and Jamir Ahmed Ahangar (Ganderbal) have also been arrested. 360 kg ammonium nitrate, AK-56 rifle, Beretta and Chinese pistols were recovered from the rented house of Dr. Muazmil, arrested in Faridabad. Police say that this is a white collar terror network. That is, educated professionals who were providing technical and financial support to terrorism in the name of social networks and NGOs.

High alert in Delhi, NIA on spot

Immediately after the blast, Delhi Police issued high alert in the entire city. NIA, Special Cell and forensic teams reached the spot and collected samples. Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha himself inspected the spot. Home Minister Amit Shah is being given every moment’s information. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Amit Shah.

Jaish’s angle is getting deeper

The closeness of time between the recovery in Jammu and the Delhi blast has increased the concern of the agencies. According to sources, the arrested accused were associated with an active sleeper cell of Jaish-e-Mohammed and were influencing the youth through educational institutions. Agencies suspect that some part of the recovered chemical had reached Delhi and was used in this blast.

direction of investigation

The joint team of NIA and Delhi Police has started scanning the CCTV footage of the area. The footage shows a white Echo van seconds before the blast. Where did that vehicle come from and whose did it belong to? Its investigation is ongoing. The remains of the blast have been sent to CFSL lab so that the exact nature of the chemical can be known. Besides, search of suspicious vehicles has also started on the Delhi-Haryana border.

The entire operation was under the supervision of the Home Ministry.

Home Minister Amit Shah held an emergency meeting with NIA, IB and Delhi Police officials late at night. According to sources, Shah has directed that search operations should be intensified in Delhi and surrounding states, social media and darknet platforms should be strictly monitored and immediate action should be taken on any suspicious activity.
