He sarcastically said that Trump will soon understand that America has no right on this sea route. Iranian minister reminded Trump of his old statement. Garibabadi also reminded Trump of his old statement. In fact, a few months ago, Trump had suggested changing the name of ‘Persian Gulf’ to ‘Arabian Gulf’. Iran had strongly objected to this and said that this name has been ‘Persian Gulf’ for centuries. Now Trump used the word ‘Persian Gulf’ in his post. Taking a dig at this, Garibabadi said that since Trump has used the correct name this time, hopefully he will also understand that the Strait of Hormuz is not America’s territory. Trump, while giving a speech on Iran in his first term (2017), called the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf for the first time. In Iran it is considered an issue of national identity, so there was a lot of controversy over it. Iran said – Hormuz will not open until conditions are met Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Tuesday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until America removes its naval blockade and implements the promises made in the memorandum of understanding. In his speech broadcast on state television, he said that Tehran will not back down from its position and will take decisions according to its country’s interests rather than American terms. Has also threatened Oman: Earlier on Monday, Trump had threatened to bomb Oman. He said that if Oman becomes an obstacle to the ongoing talks between the US and Iran, the US will ‘bomb’ it. However, Trump did not specify what Oman had done that he considered the obstruction. Oman has long described itself as a neutral country in this conflict. He has also been playing the role of mediator in talks between America and Iran. Trump’s statement is also considered important because this is the first time that he has directly threatened Oman with military action, which is playing the role of mediator.
