Domestic donations to PM Cares Fund declined by 30% to around Rs 479 crore in 2024-25. Foreign donations have also declined by 18 percent to Rs 92.8 lakh. According to the latest audit report of the fund, a total of Rs 8,452 crore was deposited in the PM Cares Fund as of March 31, 2025. A year ago, on March 31, 2024, this amount was Rs 7,173 crore. Of this amount, Rs 7,846 crore was kept in fixed deposits and Rs 605 crore were kept in savings bank accounts. The PM Cares Fund was created on March 27, 2020, following the outbreak of COVID-19. There was an even greater decline in foreign donations. It was Rs 495 crore in 2020-21, which declined to Rs 40 crore and Rs 2.57 crore respectively in the next two financial years. In the year 2023-24, Rs 1.13 crore was received from foreign donations. Foreign contribution in 20 24-25 is Rs 92.8 lakh. This is the lowest amount after Rs 39.7 lakh received in 2019-20. 87.8 lakh rupees were spent on PM Cares for Children Scheme. In the year 2024-25, 87.8 lakh rupees were spent on PM Cares for Children Scheme. Last year, Rs 15.37 crore was spent on this scheme. A total of Rs 87.85 lakh was paid from the fund in the year 2024-25. Last year this amount was Rs 15.6 crore.
