US President Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan has reached the second phase. Trump has formed a ‘Peace Board’ to oversee this committee and to raise funds. The President himself is presiding over it. Apart from this, Gaza Executive Board has also been formed. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the US has announced the new administrative board formed for Gaza without any talks with Israel. Israel says that this decision is against its government policy. The White House released the list of board members on Friday. This board includes 7 people, including Indian-origin Ajay Banga. Banga is currently the President of the World Bank Group. Other members of the board include many leaders including Marco Rubio (Foreign Minister), Steve Witkoff (Special Ambassador). Turkish Foreign Minister includes Gaza Executive Board In addition to the Peace Board, a Gaza Executive Board is also being formed to assist the High Representative and the NCAG. Its initial members include Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Ali al-Thawadi, General Hassan Rashad, Tony Blair, Mark Rowan, UAE Minister Reem al-Hashimi, Bulgarian politician Nikolai Mladenov. Nikolai Mladenov will be the representative of the Executive Board. Is Israel unhappy with Trump’s Peace Board? According to Netanyahu’s office, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar will raise this issue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, it did not specify which part of the board Israel found objectionable. According to media reports, the main problem is the inclusion of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Israel’s main opposition is to the role of countries like Turkey and Qatar. They are considered supporters of Hamas and have tense relations with Israel. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel’s Gaza action. Israel says such countries should not be included in the administration of Gaza. Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir supported Netanyahu’s statement, saying that Gaza does not need an ‘executive board’, but the complete destruction of Hamas and large-scale voluntary migration. Each member of the Peace Board will have his own specific responsibility. The White House said that each member of the Executive Board will handle a specific portfolio related to the stability and long-term success of Gaza. This includes enhancing governance capacity, regional relations, reconstruction, funding and capital mobilization. According to the White House, more members of the Peace Board and the Gaza Executive Board will be announced in the coming weeks. NCAG will work under the leadership of Dr. Ali Shath. Dr. Sha’ath is a technocrat. According to US officials, Ali Shaath will be responsible for restoring basic public services (such as water, electricity, health and education), strengthening civil institutions, and stabilizing everyday life in Gaza. Ajay Banga has worked with many American leaders. Ajaypal Singh Banga was born in Pune, India in 1959. Father Harbhajan Singh Banga was a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army, so he had to travel all over India in his childhood. Banga became a US citizen in 2007. Currently he is the 14th President of the World Bank Group. Banga was elected President of the World Bank on May 3, 2023. He was nominated for this post by the Joe Biden Administration in February 2023. Banga has held many important posts even before this. He has been the executive chairman of MasterCard. Before being nominated for the World Bank, he was the chairman of Exor. Banga was also the chairman of the Public-Private Partnership for Central America along with former US Vice President Kamala Harris. Ajay Banga has started many reform works after assuming the post of 14th President of the World Bank Group. Major General Jasper Jeffers of the US Army has been made the commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) to strengthen the security system in Gaza and end terrorism. The White House said Jasper Jeffs will lead security operations. Will help in de-militarization, protect essential items being used in humanitarian aid and reconstruction. America talked about partnership with Israel and Arab countries. The White House statement said that America is committed to fully supporting this transitional framework. Under this, this plan will be completed in collaboration with Israel, major Arab countries and the international community. Donald Trump has appealed to all parties to fully cooperate with the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the Board of Peace and the ISF, so that the plan can be implemented rapidly. US administration said – NCAG’s objective is to bring permanent peace in Gaza. US administration has described NCAG as an important link in implementing the second phase of Trump’s plan. The plan is based on a 20-point roadmap aimed at bringing lasting peace, stability, reconstruction and prosperity to Gaza. According to the plan, if both sides agreed the war would end immediately. Under this, the Israeli army will retreat to the designated line, so that the process of releasing the hostages can begin. All military activities, including air and artillery strikes, will be stopped. Preparation for development by forming panels in Gaza. ‘Trump Economic Development Plan’ is also included in this initiative. Under this, a plan for the reconstruction and development of Gaza will be prepared by forming a panel of experts related to developing modern ‘Miracle Cities’ in the Middle East. According to the plan, proposals related to investment and development will be taken from international groups. Their objective is to attract investment and create employment opportunities while strengthening security and governance. Along with this, there is also a proposal to create a special economic zone, in which tariffs and access rates will be decided with the participating countries. The plan clearly states that no one will be forcibly expelled from Gaza. Those who want to go will be able to go and if they want to return, they will have the freedom to return. According to the plan, people will be encouraged to stay in Gaza and build a better future.
