A Pakistani drone was seen hovering near the India-Pakistan border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir late on Tuesday night. After this, the army retaliated and activated its anti-drone system. According to army sources, this drone was seen during routine surveillance. This is the fifth incident of drone sighting near the border in the last 10 days. Earlier on the evening of January 17, a drone was also seen in Ramgarh sector adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC). After the army’s retaliatory action, the drone returned towards Pakistan. Also on January 15, five drones were spotted together in Ramgarh sector, twice in Rajouri district on January 13 and on January 11, five drones were spotted simultaneously in Nowshera sector, Dharamsal sector, Reasi, Samba and Mankot sector of Poonch. In view of such incidents happening continuously, surveillance and vigilance on LoC has been further increased. Army and security agencies are keeping an eye on the situation. More information related to the drone is awaited. For the first time, 5 drones were seen on January 11. First of all, on January 11, around 5 drones were seen near the border with Pakistan and the Line of Control (LoC) in Samba, Rajouri and Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. According to the report of news agency PTI, the soldiers deployed in Nowshera sector in Rajouri saw the drone over Gania-Kalsian village at around 6.35 pm. After this firing was done with medium and light machine guns. Another drone was seen at 6.35 pm in Khabar village of Teriath in Rajouri. This drone came from Dharamsal village of Kalakot and moved further towards Bharakh. At the same time, at around 7.15 pm, a drone-like object was seen hovering over Chak Babral village in Ramgarh sector of Samba for a few minutes. In Poonch too, another drone like thing was seen moving from Tain towards Topa in Mankot sector at 6.25 pm. Earlier on January 9, a consignment of weapons was found in Palura village of Ghagwal near IB in Samba, which was dropped by a drone from Pakistan. It included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds and a grenade. Security forces suspect- Pakistan is sending weapons through drones. Security agencies are on alert regarding Republic Day in the country. Security agencies suspect that these drones are being used to know the army’s position on the border or to drop weapons and narcotics for terrorists. 7 May 2025: India starts Operation Sindoor. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has said on Tuesday itself that Operation Sindoor is still going on. Even if Pakistan attempts a terrorist attack or infiltration, India is ready to retaliate.
