Opposition parties are opposing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not releasing vacancies for Hindi and Sanskrit lecturers in schools, colleges and universities of Jammu and Kashmir.
The National Conference government of Jammu and Kashmir has recently released 575 posts of lecturer for various subjects, but this time Hindi and Sanskrit were not included. While Hindi is one of the most spoken languages in the state.
Hindi is taught in schools, colleges and universities, yet a political controversy has arisen in the state due to not a single post being created for lecturers in Hindi and Sanskrit.
Under the leadership of BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa, BJP is protesting against the Omar government. He has also warned the state government that if Hindu and Sanskrit are not given importance then all trucks carrying essential goods going from Jammu to Srinagar will be stopped.
It is a big thing that this time PDP is also supporting against BJP. PDP says that out of 575, only 238 posts were left for open merit, whereas by reserving 337 posts, the large section without reservation will be left out of this recruitment.

BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa said in a press conference that if the people of Jammu are discriminated against, trucks going to Kashmir will be stopped.
Many posts vacant in Hindi and Sanskrit The government has invited applications for 24 subjects. But, despite the posts of Hindi and Sanskrit lecturers being vacant, they were not included. Departmental sources said that more than 100 posts are vacant in Hindi, but 36 posts for Hindi and 20 for Sanskrit could have been added in this advertisement. This would have been similar to Urdu (36) and Arabic (20).
Shortage of Hindi lecturer, no recruitment School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued direct recruitment for 575 lecturer posts. Its examination has to be conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. In this, recruitment is to be done for Urdu, Kashmiri, Arabic, Persian, Punjabi and Dogri languages.

An applicant, Amit Vishnoi, said that in 2016, the Higher Education Department had released posts for Hindi lecturer, when it had received 4 thousand applications, but this time not even a single post was released.
32% urban youth in line for job According to the recently released Periodic Labor Force Survey, the number of unemployed people with higher education in Jammu and Kashmir is increasing. Among job seekers aged 15 to 29 years, 32% of the urban highly educated are unemployed during the July to September quarter. Employment is a sensitive issue in Jammu and Kashmir and the issue may escalate in the coming days.

Bulldozers were run on shops of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, 20 November. Jammu Development Authority (JDA) demolished a dozen shops of Kashmiri Pandits located near Muthi Camp in Jammu city. These shops were built by displaced Kashmiri Pandits about three decades ago.
