Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Ketan Agarwal’s family have filed an FIR against Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, accusing them of his murder. The complaint contains several key allegations, alleging that Siya showed “erratic behaviour” before the couple’s trip to Pune’s Lohagad Fort, where he was pushed off a cliff by his fiancée and her alleged lover.
The case has attracted national attention after it was alleged that Ketan, a 26-year-old real estate executive, did not suffer an accidental death, but was the victim of a premeditated murder by his fiancée and her alleged lover. Police have alleged that Ketan Agarwal was pushed to his death by Siya and Chetan on June 18.
According to NDTVKetan’s father, Vishal Devichand Agarwal, has alleged in the FIR that Ketan recently told the family about Siya behaving erratically, with frequent tantrums and arguments over minor issues. The FIR, dated June 23, also claimed that the couple had missed a trip to Lohagad Fort on June 4 after Ketan refused to take her, which caused her to become highly agitated.
How Did Siya Convince Ketan To Take Her To Lohagad?
As per the FIR, Siya had been persistently demanding that Ketan take her to the Lohagad Fort in Pune, after his mother initially rejected the request. On the night of June 17, she dialled Ketan Agarwal on WhatsApp and used her upcoming birthday as a pretext to convince his family to let them visit the fort.

After Siya spoke with Ketan’s mother directly, he picked her up from the Kiwale bridge on the Pune-Mumbai highway and went to the fort. At 10:45 am, Siya alerted her fiancé’s mother, claiming that he had accidentally fallen into a gorge at Lohagad Fort. Ketan was later declared dead.
On June 21, Ketan’s father and relatives visited the exact spot and came to the conclusion that an accidental slip from that spot was highly improbable. Furthermore, they alleged that Siya was constantly busy on her phone and frequently mentioned her “friend” Chetan Chaudhary, after which the family suspected that the two were involved in a romantic relationship.
‘Obstacle To Relationship’
The FIR claimed that Siya and Chetan conspired to kill Ketan because he had become an obstacle to their relationship. Ketan’s father said the couple had plans to go to Bali for a pre-wedding shoot, but the trip was cancelled because Siya could not get her passport on time.
The families had reportedly planned a lavish celebration at a luxury resort in Udaipur, with estimates of the overall expenditure ranging from Rs 5 crore to as high as Rs 17 crore in different reports.
Ketan’s Family Demands Justice
Ketan Agarwal’s family members and residents of their housing society also held a candlelight march in Pimpri-Chinchwad to pay tribute to the 26-year-old real estate executive. Participants carried placards demanding justice for Ketan and the strictest punishment for the accused.
Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, made an emotional appeal, saying he never imagined that arranging his son’s marriage would end in tragedy. “My 26-year-old son was killed for no apparent reason—a reason that remains unknown to this day. My child was not at fault in any way. I had set out to arrange his marriage and bring a daughter-in-law into the family; I never imagined I would lose my child instead,” he said.
Ketan’s mother, Rakhi Agarwal, also demanded the harshest punishment for the accused. “I want justice for Ketan, and I want the death penalty for Siya. I am a mother, and Siya has a mother too; yet, I want the death penalty for Siya and for Chetan,” she said.
