The Resistance Front (TRF), an organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the Ganderbal terrorist attack.
There was a terrorist attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir late night on 20 October. 7 people lost their lives in this. On Wednesday, the picture of the terrorist involved in this attack was revealed. A terrorist carrying a rifle like AK-47 in his hand is seen entering a building.
The identity of the terrorist has not been revealed yet, but the responsibility of this attack was taken by Lashkar-e-Taiba’s organization The Resistance Front (TRF). Sources told Bhaskar on Monday that TRF Chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul was the mastermind of this attack.
Actually, terrorists had opened fire at the tunnel construction site of Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Gagangir area of Ganderbal. Dr Shahnawaz Mir of Budgam and 6 laborers from Punjab-Bihar lost their lives in the attack.
After the attack, a search operation was conducted since night in the forests of Ganderbal and Gagangir. Due to the investigation of the attack and high alert, the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) had also reached Ganderbal.
In this attack, 7 people including 6 laborers from Punjab and Bihar lost their lives.

Gagangir terrorist attack, 4 points
1. 2-3 terrorists involved in the attack, conducted recce for 1 month Sources had told Bhaskar that 2-3 terrorists of TRF were involved in the Gagangir terrorist attack. He was doing recce of the construction site for the last one month. Due to this, the terrorists were able to escape immediately after the attack.
2. Workers of Punjab and Bihar were targeted Jammu and Kashmir Police had said that Dr. Shahnawaz of Budgam and Shashi Abrol of Kathua were killed in the attack. Apart from these, Gurmeet Singh of Gurdaspur, Punjab, Anil Kumar Shukla, Faheem Nazir, Mohammad Hanif and Kalim of Bihar were murdered. All of them were working in the tunnel project of the central government.
3. TRF changed strategy, now outsiders also on target According to reports, TRF has changed its strategy in the last one and a half years. Earlier TRF used to do target killing of Kashmir Pandits. Now this organization is targeting non-Kashmiris and Sikhs. 4 days ago, Bihar laborer Ashok Chauhan was murdered in Shopian. No organization has yet taken responsibility for this attack.
4. Terrorists killed in Baramulla, no Ganderbal connection After the Ganderbal attack, a terrorist has been killed by security forces in Baramulla, 50 kilometers away. A huge quantity of weapons have also been recovered from him, but till now no connection with Ganderbal has been revealed. Here too the search operation is going on since Monday morning.
After the death of the Kautha laborer, his wife and children are deeply shocked. His family members said that God should not show such Karva Chauth to anyone.

- Amit Shah: Those involved in this heinous and cowardly attack will not be spared. They will have to face the harshest response from our security forces. I am with the families of the deceased in this hour of grief.
- Rahul Gandhi: The attack in Jammu and Kashmir is a cowardly and unforgivable crime. This audacity of the terrorists will never break the order of construction and the trust of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. The entire country is united in this fight.
- Chief Minister Omar: The cowardly attack on non-local laborers is very sad. These people were working on a project in the area. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people.
After removal of 370, TRF became active, did target killing TRF is declared a terrorist organization in India. Indian officials say that TRF was created by Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar. It has been formed by combining the cadres of Lashkar and Jaish. This organization is involved in many incidents of killing of Kashmiris, Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus. TRF has become more active after the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. TRF, not Lashkar, takes responsibility for the attacks.
Objective of TRF: After 2020, TRF was involved in most of the incidents of target killing. Targets Kashmiri Pandits, migrant workers, government officials, leaders and security forces. After the removal of 370, the aim is to sabotage government schemes and rehabilitation plans of Kashmiri Pandits and to spread instability. They have also targeted those local Muslims working in the government or police, whom they consider close to India.
Target killing in 2024 Target killing was done in Jammu and Kashmir earlier also in 2024. No terrorist organization has taken responsibility for these target killings, but it is believed that TRF is behind them too.
1. Rajouri, April 22: Terrorists had opened fire on a house in Rajouri. 40 year old Mohammad Razzaq had died in this. He was a resident of Kunda Tope Shahdara Sharif. This was the third incident of target killing in April. Razzaq’s brothers are soldiers in the army. 19 years ago, terrorists had killed Razzaq’s father Mohammad Akbar in this same village. He used to work in the Welfare Department. Razzaq got the job in place of his father.

April 8, Shopian: Non-Kashmiri local driver Paramjit Singh was shot by terrorists in Padpawan of Shopian district of South Kashmir. He was a resident of Delhi. The terrorists had attacked Paramjeet when he was on duty. After carrying out the incident the terrorists fled from the spot.
February, Habba Kadal: In Srinagar, on 7 February 2024, terrorists shot two people of Sikh community with AK-47 rifle in Habba Kadal area. The deceased were identified as Amrit Pal (31) and Rohit Masih (25), residents of Amritsar. Amrit Pal died on the spot. Rohit died during treatment.
On February 7, terrorists shot dead two youths from Amritsar.
