On Tuesday night, a five-member CBI team met the victim’s family.
The father of the trainee doctor who was the victim of rape-murder at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College has made a big allegation against Mamata Banerjee. He said that if Mamata had taken action against the former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, in 2017, my daughter would have been alive today.
Victim’s father said- ‘CBI is doing its job, we cannot say anything about this investigation. All those who are connected to this murder in any way, or those who may be involved in tampering with evidence, are being investigated. The junior doctors who are protesting are in trouble. The day the accused are punished, that day will be our victory. Even in the year 2021, many complaints were filed against the former principal of the college, Sandeep Ghosh. If the Chief Minister had taken action against Sandeep Ghosh then, my daughter would have been alive.

The meeting of the governing body of doctors started at 6:30 pm and continued till 1 am. The junior doctors said in a press conference that the state government has fulfilled some of our demands, but our protest will continue until all our demands are met. We want to talk to the government again.

Supreme Court said- it is the government’s job to protect women doctors The Supreme Court heard the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor on Tuesday (September 17). The Supreme Court reprimanded the Bengal government for its decision to end night duty for women doctors.
The bench of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra said that how can you say that women cannot work at night? They do not want any concession. The government’s job is to provide them security. Women work at night in all professions like pilot, army etc.
On the court’s rebuke, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, on behalf of the Bengal government, said that the government will withdraw its decision to limit the duty of women doctors to 12 hours and ban night duty.
The court has ordered Wikipedia to remove the name and photo of the dead trainee doctor. The court said that the identity of the rape victim should not be disclosed. The Supreme Court will hear the case next on September 24.

CJI said- 18-23 year old doctors are working in hospitals, there should be police there The Supreme Court also raised questions on the appointment of security personnel from private agencies on contract for the security of doctors and others in hospitals. The court said that people working on contract are given 7 days of training and they roam around the entire hospital. How can security be ensured through them?
The court said that the main accused in the rape-murder case is also a civic volunteer. There are 28 government hospitals in Bengal. Young doctors aged 18-23 years are working there. Girls come to the 45 medical colleges of the state after class 12th. They are very young. There are also interns among them. In such a situation, the deployment of security personnel on contract is completely unsafe.
CJI said that the state government should deploy police force in government hospitals and medical colleges. Progress is also very slow in RG Kar Medical College. Approval has been given to install 415 additional CCTV cameras there, but only 36 have been installed so far. Read full news here…
