West Bengal election results were declared on 4 May, in which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lost by a landslide. After the election results came out, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, who has made The Kashmir Files and The Bengal Files, has taken a dig at Mamata Banerjee and expressed happiness over her defeat. He claims that Mamata Banerjee had banned him from Bengal, due to which he was not allowed to go to Bengal and he could not even go to receive the award. Vivek says that the people of Bengal will live fearlessly after this. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has released an old video related to stopping the release of The Bengal Files and has written, ‘Never again. For those who don’t know, Mamata Banerjee had stopped me in Bengal when The Kashmir Files was released. This film was removed from the theaters and they said that I would not be allowed to come to Bengal. Vivek further wrote, ‘Last year, they also banned The Bengal Files completely in West Bengal. Our trailer launch was put on hold. We were attacked and even beaten. Many FIRs were registered against me. I was completely banned in Bengal. I couldn’t even go to the Governor to receive my award. But we did not give up. During the elections, we tried to make The Bengal Files reach as many people as possible (secretly). In the end, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote, ‘I am happy that we did not give up and continued fighting in our own way. And finally got this big victory. Congratulations to the great people of Bengal. Now you can walk with your head held high, without any fear. Let us tell you that there was a demand to ban the film The Bengal Files directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri in Bengal. Then Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri organized the trailer launch event of the film in Kolkata. In the middle of the event, some people vandalized the place and stopped the trailer from being shown. Even then Vivek had accused Mamata Banerjee of stopping the event.
