Although the film does not take forward the straightforward story of ‘Cocktail’, its theme is based on the complex equations of relationships, friendship and love. This time a completely new star cast and new story will be seen in the film. The trailer shows the deteriorating relationships between the characters of Shahid, Kriti and Rashmika. The story revolves around a love triangle where the boundaries of friendship and love start blurring. The film focuses on the complexities and emotional conflicts of modern relationships. The story of the film has been written by Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan. Its music has been composed by Pritam, while the lyrics have been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The trailer also sees the return of the popular song ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’, which was a popular song from the first film starring Saif Ali Khan. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Luv Ranjan. Shahid and Kriti have previously been seen together in ‘Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, while Rashmika is sharing the screen with the pair for the first time.
