Many ministers and senior officials of the Center including PM Modi have put the logo of Operation Sindoor in the display picture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday changed his display picture on social media platform X to the logo of Operation Sindoor. This initiative was taken to pay tribute to the courage of the Indian Army on the first anniversary of the military operation launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

It was launched after the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, in which 26 people lost their lives. During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

In Operation Sindoor, launched on 7 May 2025, India had destroyed nine major terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).

During this, facilities of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were targeted. Indian Armed Forces had killed more than 100 terrorists in this action.

PM saluted the bravery of the armed forces with a Sanskrit verse

PM Modi has saluted the bravery of the armies through a Sanskrit verse. He wrote: Udirnamanaso yodha vahanani cha bharata. In an army in which they are sure to be called victory. In other words, O India, the victory of an army whose warriors are of high spirits and strong morale, and who have good vehicles/equipment is considered certain.

It also highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of our forces. At the same time, it also showcased the growing synergy between our forces and emphasized how much India’s pursuit of self-reliance in the defense sector has strengthened our national security. Today, even after a year, we remain as firm as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy the entire ecosystem that promotes it.

After Operation Sindoor on May 8, 2025, when Army officials called a press conference to give information, they told that 5 names had been decided for the operation. At last two names, Operation Mangalsutra and Sindoor, were chosen. The marriage of many women was ruined in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, hence PM Modi approved Operation Sindoor.
