The report of America’s Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) released in March calls for a ban on RSS. 275 former judges, officers and military personnel of India protested and said that the report is inaccurate and biased.
In the statement issued on Saturday, these former officials said that this report was prepared for some purpose and it was not properly thought out. He says that Indian institutions have been shown in a wrong light without solid evidence.
The statement said that banning an organization like RSS, confiscating its property and restricting the movement of people are absolutely wrong and useless suggestions.
Former officials told the US government that the people who are making this report should be investigated. He alleges that some anti-India people want to destroy the trust between the two countries through such reports.

USCIRF accused of misrepresenting institutions
The former judges and officials also said in the statement that USCIRF repeatedly misrepresents Indian institutions without complete information, raising doubts about its impartiality.
Former officials said that India is a strong democracy, where courts and other institutions function properly. Therefore, religious freedom cases are less likely to be ignored.

25 retired judges included among those who gave statements
A total of 275 people have signed this joint statement. These include 25 retired judges, 119 former government officials (including 10 ambassadors) and 131 former military officers.
The prominent people who signed this statement include big names like Adarsh Kumar Goyal, Hemant Gupta, OP Rawat, Sunil Arora and Kanwal Sibal. The work of preparing and assembling this entire statement was done by Bhaswati Mukherjee and M. Madan Gopal.
