Facebook’s parent company Meta has lifted the ban on former US President Donald Trump. Meta said that Trump is a presidential candidate. In such a situation, he should also get an equal opportunity to campaign like everyone else. Other candidates are also using Meta’s platforms – Facebook and Instagram for elections. Similarly, Trump also has the right to use these platforms.
Actually, there was violence in America in 2021 and after that Meta banned Trump’s social media accounts.

According to some reports, former US President Trump had asked Meta to restore his Facebook account.
5 people died in the Capitol violence
On January 6, 2021, hundreds of Trump supporters resorted to violence during the presidential election results being confirmed in the US Parliament. Five people, including a police officer, were killed in this. Trump was accused of inciting his supporters. After this, his social media accounts were suspended.
Facebook had said- Trump’s video poses a risk of inciting violence
After the violence at Capitol Hill, Trump posted a 1-minute video on social media. Facebook and YouTube removed Trump’s video. Facebook’s Vice President (Integrity) Guy Rosen said that this is an emergency and Trump’s video can further incite violence.

Although Trump has not yet made any statement about his return to Facebook and Instagram, it is said that due to his absence on Facebook, the company has suffered losses of billions of dollars.
Trump called Facebook’s move an insult to voters
Trump had called Facebook’s action an insult to the 7.5 crore people who voted for Trump in the 2020 election. Trump had said – Those people cannot be excluded by censoring and silencing them. We will win again. Our country cannot tolerate this insult any longer.
