US Finance Minister Scott Besant says that Indo-US relations are quite complicated, but they are confident that the two countries will finally come together.

He said in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday that he was expecting a trade agreement with India by May or June, but India prolonged the talks.

Besant also said that India is the largest democracy in the world and America is the largest economy, so there is good relations between the two countries and there can be a good agreement in the future.

At the same time, India Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that America has deliberately targeted India separately. While more countries are buying oil from Russia.

Besant said- not worried about the formation of global currency of rupee

Besant reiterated Trump’s stance and said that when there is inequality in business, the country with losses take advantage, while the country who sells more should be worried. He said, “India is selling goods to us, their tariffs are very high and there is a big loss for us.”

When asked if he was worried about doing business in India’s rupee, he said that the Indian rupee is still at its lowest level against the dollar. So they have no concern for this. He said- I worry about many things, but the issue of making global currency of rupee is not included in it.

Besant said- India did not cooperate in the conversation

Besant also said that there is a very good relationship between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi. However, he also admitted that the relationship is complex and it is not just a matter of Russian oil. America has a major trade deficit with India.

Besant said- We felt India could be involved in the initial agreements. Then India also cooperated in the conversation, but the matter of procurement of crude oil from Russia is creating difficulties, because India is earning profits from it.

Indian minister said- Our economy will face this challenge

At the same time, Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Kirti Vardhan Singh, described this tariff of America as wrong, unfair and unjust. He said that America has targeted India separately, while other countries also buy oil from Russia.

Singh expressed confidence that India’s economy is strong and it will face this challenge. He said- Our government will protect the interests of the country and the energy needs of 140 crore people. We will buy oil from where we will get the best deal.
