Chemical tank leaked in California, America. A chemical tank kept in the aerospace factory, located less than a kilometer from the Disneyland theme park, overheated on Friday. After this, about 40 thousand people from nearby areas have been sent to safe places. Many schools have been closed and relief camps have been opened, which are now full. Garden Grove is a city located in Orange County, California. Here in a company named GKN Aerospace, the pressurized tank containing a chemical named methyl methacrylate got heated and poisonous gas started coming out from it. According to Orange County Fire Authority officials, the tank could explode or crack, causing toxic chemicals to spill onto the ground. According to the officials, about 22,700 to 26,500 liters of dangerous plastic making chemical methyl methacrylate is filled in the tank. Fire officials said the situation was serious and efforts were on to stop the tank from bursting. People have been appealed to avoid rumors and unnecessary calls. People from 6 cities were evacuated. Initially, only the people of Garden Grove were ordered to evacuate their homes, but later as the threat increased, people from five other cities of Orange County, Cypress, Stanton, Anaheim, Buena Park and some areas of Westminster were also evacuated. However, both the theme parks of Disneyland are not currently included in the evacuation zone. The administration has set up shelter homes at several places, including three high schools, where people have been kept temporarily. According to officials, so far there is no news of anyone being injured or killed in this incident. The company has issued a statement saying that it is working with emergency services and expert teams to ensure the safety of local people and employees. Efforts are on to cool the tank. The fire team is continuously monitoring the temperature of the tank with the help of drones. Officials said that one of the two damaged tanks has been repaired, but the other tank is still in the greatest danger. The team is continuously trying to cool the tank with the help of water and other techniques. As a precautionary measure, the administration has prepared barriers with sandbags so that if the chemical leaks, it cannot reach the drains, sea or nearby water streams. Orange County Health Officer Dr. Regina Chincio-Kwong said that this chemical is highly flammable and poisonous. If its temperature increases then the gas released from it can be dangerous for people’s health. This can cause problems like difficulty in breathing, eye irritation, itching, headache and nausea. —————————– Also read this news… Blast in China’s coal mine, 90 people died: 247 laborers were working; Jinping said – will not spare the culprits.
