US jets take off during airstrikes on ISIS targets in Syria.

On Friday, America carried out air strikes on several targets associated with the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria. American officials said that this action has been taken in response to the recent attack in which two American soldiers deployed in Syria were killed.

This military operation has been named ‘Operation Hawkeye’. This name was given because both the killed soldiers were from the US state of Iowa, which is called ‘Hawkeye State’.

According to officials, in this operation more than 12 ISIS-related targets were targeted in different areas of Syria. These include the places where terrorists stay, warehouses for storing weapons and other places.

US Defense Minister said – this is an act of revenge

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called these attacks an act of revenge. He said on social media that this is not the beginning of any new war, but a reply against those who killed American soldiers. He said that under the leadership of President Donald Trump, America will never step back from protecting its people.

This whole matter started on December 13, when two American soldiers and a local translator working with them were killed in an attack in Syria.

After this, America and its allies conducted several small operations, in which about 23 people were killed or arrested. During these operations, important information was obtained from electronic items, on the basis of which this major air attack was carried out.

Trump said – America is responding to the attackers

US President Donald Trump has said that after the killing of American soldiers in Syria, America is now taking strict action against terrorists. Trump said that the bodies of the brave soldiers killed this week were brought to America with full respect and tribute was paid to them.

Trump said that fulfilling the promise he had made, America is now giving a befitting reply to the terrorists who are responsible for this attack. He said that the US military is attacking ISIS positions in Syria.

Trump said that Syria has seen a lot of bloodshed and violence for a long time, but if ISIS is completely eliminated from there, then the future of the country can be good. He also said that the Syrian government was supporting this action.

The President warned the terrorists and said that whoever attacks America or threatens America will be given a tougher response than before.

Hundreds of American soldiers deployed in Syria

American officials said that hundreds of American soldiers are still deployed in Syria. These soldiers have been engaged in the fight against ISIS for many years. Around 2014-15, ISIS captured large parts of Syria and Iraq and established its caliphate there.

Later, after the military action of America and its allies and the change of power in Syria, most of the territory of ISIS was lost from it, but the remaining fighters of the organization still remain a threat.

The objective of Operation Hawkeye is to deal a major blow to these remaining terrorists and ensure that they cannot attack American troops or their allies again. Along with America, allied countries like Jordan also participated in this attack.

ISIS did not claim responsibility for the attack

However, some questions are also being raised regarding this attack. The Syrian government’s Interior Ministry has said that the person who carried out the December 13 attack was connected to their Internal Defense Services.

American and Syrian officials have also acknowledged that the attacker’s direct ties to ISIS are not entirely clear and ISIS has not claimed responsibility for the attack. Despite this, America says that the targets attacked were linked to ISIS.

The killed American soldiers have been identified as 25-year-old Sergeant ‘Edgar Brian Torres Tovar’ and 29-year-old Sergeant ‘William Nathaniel Howard’. Both were residents of the state of Iowa and were serving in the Iowa National Guard.

According to the US Army, he was killed during an encounter with the enemy in the Palmyra area of Syria. Three more soldiers of the Iowa National Guard were also injured in this attack, who have been sent to a safe place for treatment.

Operation Inherent Resolve continues against ISIS

A senior official of the Iowa National Guard said that their biggest priority at this time is to help the families of the martyred and injured soldiers. He said the entire Iowa National Guard stands with the families in this difficult time.

Earlier this year, about 1,800 Iowa National Guard troops were sent to the Middle East. All of these are part of the ongoing international operation against ISIS, which is called ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’.

At present, America has made it clear that it will give a strong response to any attack on its soldiers and will continue to try to destroy the remaining network of ISIS in Syria.
