Actor Sooraj Pancholi has given clarification on linking his name in the death case of actor Sushant Singh’s former manager Disha Salian.
Issuing a long statement on Instagram, Sooraj said that he has never met Disha Salian or Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray either directly or indirectly in his life.
Describing his name being dragged into this case as wrong, Suraj said that CBI and police had recorded his statement 4-5 years ago. Nevertheless, if the investigating agencies want to interrogate, they are ready for full cooperation.
Suraj expressed his displeasure in the Instagram post Sooraj Pancholi wrote in his Instagram post that for the last few years, his name has been continuously linked to Disha Salian’s death in many media reports and statements. He wrote that he did not want to respond to every report, but it became necessary to speak out when the same thing happened again and again.
Sooraj said that dragging his name into this matter without any evidence or facts is very disturbing and wrong. He appealed that the image of another person should not be tarnished by using someone’s death as a means without solid evidence.
‘Headlines and TV debates are not proof’ Sooraj Pancholi appealed to the people and media not to form opinions based on rumours. He wrote, “Don’t immediately believe whatever you see on the news or social media. A headline, debate or someone’s statement on TV is not proof.”
Suraj said that behind every name discussed on TV is a real person and his family. He supports the impartial CBI investigation into the case and has full faith in the law and the investigating agencies of the country.
Disha Salian died in 2020 Disha died on 8 June 2020 after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Six days after the incident, on 14 June 2020, Sushant Singh was also found dead in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai.
The initial investigation of Disha case was closed in about three months. In October 2020, the police declared the death a suicide. The case was reopened in December 2023 and a SIT was formed. There was also talk of suicide in this.
CBI registered FIR on father’s complaint Recently, there was a new twist in this case when CBI registered an FIR on the basis of the complaint of Disha’s father Satish Salian and the statement recorded by him.
According to Satish Salian’s lawyer Nilesh Ojha, the names of Aditya Thackeray, Rohan Rai, Rhea Chakraborty and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh are included in the FIR and complaint. After this new development, Sooraj Pancholi’s name once again appeared in media reports.
