A van rammed into the crowd on Saturday night during the Pride Parade of the LGBTQ+ community in Berlin, the capital of Germany. One person died in the accident, while 16 people were injured. Police have arrested the accused and investigation into the case is ongoing.

According to the police, the white van entered the area near Tiergarten Park, from where the Pride Parade had passed some time earlier. After hitting several people, the van crashed into a tree. The condition of some of the injured is critical.

Pride events and concerts were canceled after the incident. German Chancellor Friedrich Murch assured a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against the culprits. At the same time, Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner called it an attack on society.
