Engineers from Britain’s National Air Traffic Services have informed about working quickly on the problem.
In Britain, 625 flights were canceled on Tuesday due to a technical fault in the air traffic control system. Flight monitoring website Flightradar24 gave this information.
Britain’s National Air Traffic Services said that this problem was affecting the takeoff of flights. The flight system is gradually returning to normal.
Flights from several airlines, including British Airways, EasyJet, KLM and Lufthansa, have been affected, Flightradar24 reported.
Along with London’s Heathrow, Stansted and City airports, some flights at Manchester, Birmingham, Scotland and other airports in Britain have also been affected.
EasyJet flights affected across Europe
Budget airline EasyJet said that some of its flights could not operate. According to the company, its flights across Europe were delayed due to a system glitch.
Heathrow Airport’s website on Tuesday showed many short-haul flights to different cities in Europe canceled or delayed.
However, its effect was not visible on the flights arriving at the airport. It is not yet clear what caused the technical fault in the air traffic control system.
