The mortal remains of Aditya Sharma (23) of Himachal Pradesh, who lost his life in the American attack, will reach Hamirpur after some time today (Wednesday). Aditya’s deadbody has reached India at 8 am today. The post-mortem of Aditya’s body will be conducted tomorrow morning at Hamirpur Medical College. After this, Aditya’s last rites will be performed in his native village Bhalu in Hamirpur. Aditya’s family had refused to conduct the post-mortem in Oman. Aditya Sharma, posted as deck cadet on the oil tanker ‘MT Settebello’, lost his life in the American attack in Hormuz on Wednesday. Aditya’s mortal remains were brought to Chandigarh from Mumbai this morning, the eighth day of the attack. Aditya Sharma’s family members from Chandigarh have left for Hamirpur with the dead body. The family will reach Hamirpur by late evening. The family members are in bad condition at home due to crying. 21 Indian crew members were rescued safely. Three Indians were killed in the American attack, while 21 Indian crew members on board the ship have been rescued safely. Aditya’s uncle Sanjeev said that the local administration and the Indian Embassy have helped in bringing back the mortal remains of his nephew. He told that he is returning with Aditya’s mortal remains. Aditya was the only child. Aditya Sharma was a resident of village Bhalu of Panchayat Hadeta of Hamirpur district. He was the only child of his parents. His father does business in Jalandhar, Punjab. He studied till 12th from Jalandhar itself. After this he did Nautical Engineering from Scotland. Then on 24 November 2025, he got a job in the Merchant Navy. Father raised questions on missile attack. Aditya’s father Rajesh Sharma said that his son had talked about coming home in July. The family was happy that the son would return home after more than seven months, but before that the news of the son’s death shook the family. He described the incident as a war crime. He said that there should not be a missile attack on a merchant ship. Why the ship was taken so close to the Hormuz area should be investigated. He has demanded action against the culprits. Aditya was posted as deck cadet. Aditya Sharma was posted as deck cadet on the oil tanker ‘MT Settebello’ of World Maritime Energy Limited Company. Aditya’s job contract had ended in May, but he could not come home and the contract was extended for a month.
