Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy from 15 to 20 May. According to ANI, his first stop amid the Iran war and the Strait of Hormuz crisis will be UAE, where energy security and regional situation are likely to be discussed.
PM Modi will reach UAE on May 15 and meet President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Energy cooperation, regional situation and India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership will be discussed in the meeting.
UAE is India’s third largest trading partner and more than 45 lakh Indians live there. According to the report, the West Asia crisis and closure of the Strait of Hormuz have affected the global energy market. This tour is being considered very important in view of India’s oil supply and energy security.
PM Modi will be in Netherlands from 15 to 17 May. During this he will meet Prime Minister Rob Jetton, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. Defense, security, green hydrogen, semiconductor and water partnership will be discussed in the meetings.
PM Modi will visit Sweden on 17-18 May and Norway on 18-19 May. The third India-Nordic Summit will be held on May 19 in Oslo, Norway. Green transition, blue economy, defence, space and new technology will be discussed in this summit.
In the last leg of the tour, PM Modi will visit Italy on 19-20 May. There he will meet Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella. India-EU Free Trade Agreement, defense cooperation and clean energy will be discussed in the meetings.
