A private jet crashes at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic. While trying to make an emergency landing, the plane bounced on the runway and instantly turned into a big ball of fire. The pilot and co-pilot died in the accident.

According to the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute, the Gulfstream G200 jet was en route from La Romana to Austin, Texas, USA. After the plane developed a serious technical fault during the flight, the pilot declared an emergency and decided to return to the airport.

According to officials, the plane was about 16 nautical miles southwest of the airport when it reported an emergency.

In the video viral on social media, the plane can be seen dragging on the runway with the help of its rear wheels. After this the plane bounces hard and within a few seconds turns into a huge ball of fire. After the accident, a huge plume of smoke was seen rising into the sky.

The Civil Aviation Authority said there were no passengers on board the plane. At present, investigation has been started to find out the cause of the accident. According to initial information, technical fault is being considered as the reason for the accident.
