The joint team of UP STF and Mumbai Crime Branch has made the 9th arrest in the firing case at film maker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu house. Police have arrested the accused Pradeep Kumar alias Ganth from Agra. This accused is said to be a member of the notorious Shubham Lonkar gang. He was caught near Agra-Etah road on Thursday afternoon. During interrogation, Pradeep told that he had come in contact with Shubham Lonkar gang through Facebook and Instagram. It was on social media that he was ‘radicalized’ for gang activities. Pradeep confessed that he along with his associates Sunny, Deepu and Sonu committed this crime. His aim was to establish his ‘dominance’ in the underworld. 9 arrested so far, case registered under MCOCA. This is the 9th arrest in the Rohit Shetty case. Earlier, the police had arrested 8 people including Pradeep Sharma alias Golu, Deepak and Vishnu Kushwaha from different states. Mumbai Police has registered a case in this matter under strict sections like Indian Justice Code (BNS), Arms Act and Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). The accused will now be taken to Mumbai on transit remand. The firing took place on 1st February. The entire incident took place on the night of 1st February 2026. Unknown assailants had opened fire on ‘Shetty Tower’ located in Juhu area of Mumbai. Police investigation revealed that this attack was carried out by Shubham Lonkar gang. The aim of the attackers was to spread fear in the film industry and extort money. Since this incident, Mumbai Police and Crime Branch were busy searching for the operatives of this gang. The aim was to create fear psychosis. According to police officials, Shubham Lonkar gang wants to strengthen its hold by targeting big names of the film industry. The intention behind the firing at Rohit Shetty’s house was to create fear among the industry and the general public. At present, the arrested Pradeep has been handed over to Mumbai Police at Bah Police Station, from where the legal process will be taken forward.
