Heatwave continues in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Barmer in Rajasthan was the hottest place in the country on Monday. The temperature here was recorded at 47.3°C. The temperature in Jaisalmer was 46.5°C, in Phalodi 45.6°C, in Bikaner 45.3°C and in Jodhpur 44.9°C.

In other states of the country, the temperature was recorded at 45.1°C in Maharashtra’s Akola, 44.3°C in Jalgaon, 44°C in Amravati, 44.3°C in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and Amreli and 44°C in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar.

Heavy storm, rain and winds reaching up to 65 km per hour caused huge damage in Himachal Pradesh on Monday morning. In Kullu, roofs of 5 houses and 7 cow sheds were blown away, while in Mandi, Shimla and Kangra, roads were blocked due to falling trees.

It rained for about an hour on Monday morning in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. Hail fell in Sriganganagar in the evening. It rained in 9 districts of Uttarakhand. There was torrential rain in Pithoragarh. Here the roads became like rivers. It rained in 3 districts of Haryana.

There may be thunderstorms, rain and hail in Uttar Pradesh today. There is an alert of storm, rain and lightning in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Punjab till 15th May and in Himachal Pradesh till 16th May.

13 May:

There may be rain and thundershowers in some parts of Eastern UP, Bihar and Rajasthan.

The effect of rain and hailstorm may persist in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of strong winds in Punjab and Haryana also.

There may be lightning along with rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha.

14 May:

Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Western UP may experience rain, thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 30-60 km/hr.

Hail may fall along with rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. Strong winds may also blow in hilly areas.

There is an alert of lightning along with rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and North-Eastern states.
