Turkey will also provide technology for making drones to Bangladesh. Bogura is about 75 km from the Indian border. A new Air Force airbase will also be built near the factory. Bogura is in the northern part of Bangladesh. A new airbase of Bangladesh Air Force is being developed near the area where the factory is planned. There are also plans to upgrade Bogura Airport as per international standards. From India’s point of view, its importance increases because Bangladesh shares about 4,096 km long border with India. According to Bhaskar expert Avinash Mohanani, former joint director of IB, India’s longest border of about four thousand km is with Bangladesh. This is the longest border of India with any neighboring country. Also, it is considered to be the 5th longest land border between any two countries in the world. From India’s point of view, Bangladesh’s defense alliance with Turkey will increase the threat to the North-Eastern states. Bangladesh also plans to deploy drones on the border with India. Bangladesh also wants entry into the Mecca Defense Agreement with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan. Pakistan is in the role of mediator in this. Turkey took drone technology to many countries. Turkey is recognized in the world for its military drone program. Among these, Bayraktar TB2 is prominent. Turkey has taken drone technology to many countries. Drone cooperation with Bangladesh has also become an important part of the defense relations between the two countries in recent times. Bangladesh already uses military equipment made by Turkey. These also include Otokar’s COBRA series of armored vehicles. According to Otokar, COBRA II is used by armies of more than 20 countries in the world. Turkey’s drone manufacturing company is also in Pakistan. Cooperation on drones and defense technology has continuously increased between Turkey and Pakistan. Turkish drone manufacturing company Baykar is already present in Pakistan. In 2023, Baykar’s Pakistani subsidiary had signed an agreement for research and development activities at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP). Pakistan and Turkey have also discussed joint ventures and technology transfer in aerospace, drone and defense production. 12 Turkish cultural centers have been built in Bangladesh. 12 Turkish cultural centers have been built in Bangladesh within 6 months.
