A new revelation has come to light in the building accident that took place on May 30 in Saket, Delhi. The arrested building owner Karamveer told the police that he was earning around Rs 10 lakh every month from the four floors of the building. Each floor was given on rent for about Rs 2.5 lakh per month.

Investigation revealed that construction of two more floors was going on at the time of the building collapse. Sources said that Karamveer had already talked to buyers and investors about the new floor. From which he expected to earn additional income of Rs 5 lakh every month.

However, even before the new floor could be constructed, the four-storey building collapsed on May 30. 6 people had died in this accident. After which the police arrested 71 year old landlord Karamveer.

Many electricity meters recovered from the debris, all in the name of the accused

During the debris removal work on Tuesday, the police seized several electric meters from the spot. Which was registered in the name of Karamveer. These have been kept as evidence. Officials believe that these meters will prove to be important evidence against the landlord.

The police have also started contacting those tenants and occupants. Who had rented flats in the building. Notices are being issued to several people as investigators want to gather information about when the construction started, how many people were living in the building and whether the occupants had complained about any weakness in the building before it collapsed.

There is no map of the building, builder absconding

Sources said that till now the police has not been able to get any approved map of this building. If it is proved that there was no map of the building or it was constructed in violation of the rules. So only the landlord will not be responsible for the accidents. Rather, the builder who built this building will also be caught.

Meanwhile, efforts have been intensified to trace the absconding builder Manish. According to sources, his last location was found in Dehradun, and a police team has been sent there to nab him.

Investigators believe that Manish’s arrest may reveal many more important information about the construction process, approvals and money transactions related to the building.
