NEET UG-2024 exam was held on 5 May at 4,750 centers across the country. About 24 lakh students appeared in it. The results were declared on 4 June.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday (July 20) released the center-city wise results of 23.22 lakh students who appeared in NEET UG-2024 on the orders of the Supreme Court. 2321 students across the country have scored 700+ marks. 30,204 students got 650+ and 81,550 got 600+ marks.
The result of Rajasthan’s second coaching hub centre Sikar has surprised everyone. 27,000 candidates appeared in 50 centres here. Out of these, 149 students got 700+ marks and 2,037 got 650+ marks. More than 4200 got more than 600 marks. The average of students scoring 600+ marks in Sikar is 575% (almost 6 times) more than the national average.
27,119 students appeared for the exam in Kota, the country’s largest coaching hub. Out of these, only one student got the highest marks of 706. A total of 74 students got 700+ marks. In Kota, some students got -1 marks and some got up to -18 marks.
85% students have passed at one centre in Rajkot. Here 12 students got more than 700 marks and 115 got more than 650 marks. There were a total of 1968 students here. At a centre in Rewari, Haryana, 60 out of 264 students got more than 600 marks.
Secrets were revealed from everyone’s results, questions were raised on this
1. Rajasthan: 17% of students with 650+ marks are from 3 cities, twice as many are successful in Sikar as in Kota
- The average of those scoring 600+ marks in Sikar is 575% (almost 6 times) more than the national average. In Mangal Chand Didwania Vidya Mandir, 4 got 700+, 45 got 650+ and 115 got 600+ marks. In Aravali Public School, 90 got 600+ marks.
- 83 students from another centre got marks between 600 and 700. Out of the top 60 centres in the country with 650+ marks, 44 are from Sikar. The number of successful students here is double that of Kota. More than 17% of the students with 650+ marks across the country are from Sikar, Jaipur and Kota in Rajasthan.
- Out of 23.22 lakh students who appeared in the NEET exam, 30,204 got 650 marks. They will get a chance to get 30,000 seats in government medical colleges. 2037 candidates from Sikar alone will be contenders for these seats.
2. Bihar: 29 students got 650+ marks at one centre
- 48,643 students appeared for the exam at 70 centres in Patna. Only 24 scored 700+ marks. 2086 scored 600+. 29 students scored 650+ at AN College Centre in Patna and 21 students at Holy Mission Secondary School scored 650+ marks.
3. Gujarat: 240 to 600+ marks
- More than 259 candidates of RK University Center Rajkot got 600+, 403 got 550+ marks. 12 got 700 marks. Here, the candidates sitting next to each other also got the same 600-600 marks.
- A student from Rajkot got 400 marks. She had 233 marks in the result declared on June 4. Now she has 633 marks. Another student’s marks increased from 379 to 460. A total of 16 students’ results improved and they got into the merit list.
- 8 students of the centre located at Jai Jalaram School in Godhra have been found to be more than 600. This centre is also under investigation.
4. Haryana: 45 got 600+ marks at one centre in Rohtak.
- Not a single student of Jhajjar’s Hardayal Public School got 700+ marks. Earlier 6 candidates got full 720 marks out of 720. Due to this, this center was under scrutiny. No one here got so many marks after re-NEET.

Why is there controversy over NEET result?
The NEET UG-2024 exam was held on 5 May at 4,750 centers across the country. About 24 lakh students appeared in it. Its results were declared on June 4, the day of the Lok Sabha elections. The controversy started first about this, because the NEET result was released on the day of the election results, 10 days before the expected date.
Then it was revealed that 67 candidates got 720 out of 720 marks. Among these, there were six candidates whose center and sitting sequence were also the same. This came under question, because since 2019, there have not been more than three toppers of NEET in any year.
The special thing in this was that out of these 67 toppers, 44 students were included in the topper list by giving them grace marks. Some students got marks like 718 or 719 which is not possible according to the NEET marking scheme.
After this, there were allegations of paper leak and rigging in the NEET exam. Currently, the matter is in the Supreme Court. The CBI is in charge of the investigation. The Supreme Court will resume hearing arguments on July 22 on petitions seeking cancellation of NEET exam, re-conducting of the exam and investigation under the supervision of the court.

3 arrested including 2 students of Bharatpur Medical College, Rajasthan
On Saturday (20 July), the CBI arrested 3 people including two students of Bharatpur Medical College, Rajasthan, Kumar Mangalam and Dipendra. Mangalam and Dipendra had solved the NEET paper with Surabhi of Ranchi Medical College.
A total of 7 students had solved the paper in Patna on May 5. The third accused has been identified as Shashi Kumar Paswan, who was providing all kinds of help to the gang leader.
So far 45 people have been arrested in the NEET case
Earlier on July 18, the CBI had arrested four students from AIIMS Patna. The four accused have been identified as Karan Jain, Kumar Shanu, Rahul Anand and Chandan Singh, who used to solve papers for the main accused Pankaj Kumar Singh.
On July 16, another accused Raju Singh was also arrested along with Pankaj Singh. Pankaj is a civil engineer and a graduate from NIT Jamshedpur. CBI has so far arrested 45 accused in the NEET paper leak case.
