The Indian government on Tuesday reacted to reports that some social media influencers and Gen-G groups from Pakistan supported the CJP student agitation in Delhi.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India’s biggest concern is cross-border terrorism from Pakistan.
Pakistani influencers supported
Many social media influencers of Pakistan had posted in support of the CJP movement. He expressed solidarity with the students by referring to the shared history of India and Pakistan.
Pakistani influencer Bilal Hasan, who has nearly three lakh followers on Instagram, released a video saying that hatred has been spread between the two countries, but the people of Pakistan understand the posters, slogans and messages of the movement. “We see ourselves in this movement. After all, we are children of a divided family,” he said.
He described the protesting students as brave and said that they want a better future for their country. Also appealed to the students to remain united and take any risk thoughtfully.
Pakistani creators also made memes and videos
Many Pakistani content creators also made videos on the movement. Some jokingly said that only the India-Pakistan border was stopping them from reaching Jantar Mantar. Some people made videos imagining arriving at the protest with Pakistani passports.
In another video, a Pakistani woman said that it is becoming difficult for her to hate India because of India’s Gen-ji.
Pakistani influencer Mehwish Ijaz also praised the student movement. He said that the stories of struggle of students coming from economically weak families impressed him the most.
Meanwhile, another Pakistani influencer Ahsan Mirza said, “Students should always support students. We are the same. Our ancestors ate the same bread and fought together against the British.”
