Elon Musk’s X has imposed a worldwide ban on creating obscene images of real people with Grok AI. This decision has been taken after complaints of misuse of photos of women and children by AI-powered chatbot.

Now users will not be able to use this tool to create photos of any real person which are objectionable or in which they are shown in less clothing. This restriction has been imposed on all paid and unpaid users.

Complete ban on obscene photo editing

Giving information about this change on Thursday, X’s Safety Account said that they have made such changes at the technical level, due to which Grok will no longer be able to create photos of real people without clothes. In this, editing of clothes like bikini has been completely banned.

The company says that this change has been made so that no one’s privacy is violated and the platform cannot be used to harass anyone.

Investigation started from women’s complaints

In December last year, many women complained on X that their photos were being used to create sexually explicit images. The Cyber ​​Law Division of the IT Ministry directed X to remove the content under the IT Rules 2021.

Actually, some users create fake accounts on social media platform X. From these accounts they post pictures of women. After this, Grok AI is given a prompt to show the photos of women in an incorrect and objectionable manner.

AI is given prompts like changing clothes or presenting the picture in a sexual manner. No permission is taken from women for these photographs. Many times the women themselves do not even know that their photographs are being used in this way. The allegation is that instead of stopping such wrong demands, Grok accepts them.

3,500 photos removed in India, 600 users banned

In its action report submitted to the Government of India, X said that it has removed about 3,500 objectionable and obscene photos created through Grok in India. Not only this, the company had identified 600 users and expelled them from the platform, who were repeatedly misusing this AI chatbot.

Musk had said – Responsibility is not of the tool, but of the user.

Earlier, X owner Elon Musk had said that some people are saying that Grok is making objectionable pictures, but it is like blaming the pen for writing something bad. The pen does not decide what will be written. This work is done by the one who catches him.

Musk said that Grok also works in the same way. What you get depends largely on what you input into it. Because the responsibility is not of the tool, but of the person using it.
