Winter Vacation In UP 2024: Before the end of the year, not only did the mountains receive snowfall, but heavy rains also occurred in many places including Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Due to snowfall and rain, a sudden change in the weather was seen. On Sunday, a sudden drop in temperature was observed.
The DM of Meerut and Baghpat districts have announced a holiday in schools up to class 8. Schools will remain closed here till December 31, 2024. Schools in Muzaffarnagar will remain closed today. UP Basic Education Officer has sent the DM’s order to all the schools. If schools are opened anywhere despite the notification, strict action can be taken against the principal.
Winter vacation starts in most states by the last week of December. Holidays have been declared across schools in Delhi from January 1 to 15, 2025. However, due to rain, many schools have been closed since Christmas while some schools have opted for online classes. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9 degrees in Bulandshahr and Najibabad in UP. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for December 30 and 31, 2024.
Last week, there was heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR. Schools in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad had to be closed due to rain. There were also reports of a hailstorm in some areas of Noida. In view of the weather, Ghaziabad DM had issued an order to keep all schools closed till December 31, 2024. After this, winter vacation will start in the state on January 1, 2025. At the same time, most of the private schools in UP have been closed since December 25.
Meanwhile, due to heavy snowfall, the Jammu Education Department announced winter vacation for school students up to class 5 from December 10, 2024, and for classes 6 to 12 from December 16. All schools will open after February 28, 2025. Winter vacation has also commenced across all private and government schools in Rajasthan. Educational institutions will remain closed till January 5.
